Consultation for Services
Calming Waves offer clinical consultations to services regarding child, youth and family mental health problems.

Consultations can assist services to develop an understanding of an issue they are dealing with, find solutions to problems, improve their practice and meet the needs of the people with whom they are working.
Calming Waves consultations can provide:
-
Primary consultations: once-off consultations with the person concerned to provide an opinion and recommendations
-
Secondary consultations: providing information and advice to service about a particular situation they are dealing with or a person's situation without the person needing to be present
-
Tertiary consultations: providing information and advice to services about an issue or theme arising in the work they are doing without identifying a particular person. Reflective supervision for services is also offered.
Calming Waves consultations may assist services to:
-
Develop an understanding and formulation of a child, young person, or family they are helping
-
Understand specific mental health conditions and the impact of the illness on a family or individual's functioning
-
Develop strategies for engaging and working with a child, youth, or family experiencing mental health problems
-
Develop behaviour support plans, treatment plans, or crisis plans.
